We retain harmful particles

before they reach nature

BAIONYX helps municipalities, road authorities and site owners reduce pollution from road runoff. Our Particle Retention System - PRS - is designed to retain Total Suspended Solids (TSS), including microplastics from tyre wear, as well as other harmful particles carried by rainwater.

Microplastics from tyre wear remain one of the most important focus areas for BAIONYX. But they are not the only particles moving from roads into drainage infrastructure and the aquatic environment. Our solution is built to address the broader reality of polluted road runoff.

THE PROBLEM

WE face

Road runoff carries more than water. As rain passes over streets, intersections and high-traffic areas, it transports tyre wear particles, sediments, litter fragments and other harmful particles into drainage infrastructure and, in many cases, onward to the natural environment.

TYRE

Tyre wear is one of the most significant traffic-related sources of microplastic pollution.

RAIN

Rainwater transports harmful particles from roads into stormwater systems and receiving waters.

LIFE

Road runoff may also contain sediments, cigarette butts, snus pouches, wrappers and other unwanted particles.

THE SOLUTION

WE OFFER

BAIONYX offers a practical particle retention solution for existing infrastructure. Our PRS is installed in selected road gullies and drainage points where it helps retain harmful particles before they spread further into the system.

97%

Up to 97% retention of Total Suspended Solids under tested conditions.

EASY

Designed for retrofit installation in selected road gullies and drainage assets.

WORK

No major construction work and no need to change normal maintenance procedures.

IMPACT

AND RESULTS

The BAIONYX approach is built for real-world implementation. Instead of requiring large infrastructure changes, we focus on targeted installations where particle retention can create measurable local impact.

AQUA

Installed where runoff pollution is most relevant.

97%

Designed to align with existing maintenance logic and sediment-trap servicing.

Help

Built on testing, field learning and continuous development.
