For BAIONYX, IFAT is an important opportunity to meet municipalities, infrastructure stakeholders, industry partners, and decision-makers who are looking for practical and scalable ways to reduce pollution from stormwater runoff.

At the exhibition, BAIONYX will present its Particle Retention System - a decentralised, plug-and-play solution installed directly inside existing roadside gullies. The system is designed to retain harmful particles before they are discharged into the aquatic environment, including microplastics and tyre wear particles, which are among the largest sources of unintentionally released microplastics in the EU. The European Environment Agency estimates tyre-related microplastic releases at around 450,000 tonnes annually in the EU. (European Environment Agency)

The BAIONYX approach is built around simplicity and real-world implementation. Because the system is installed directly in the gully itself, there is no need for excavation, no road closures, and no disruption to nearby residents or traffic flow. Existing maintenance routines can continue as normal, helping keep operating costs neutral while upgrading infrastructure performance.
